LGC club spirit at its finest!

The day before we were due to tow to Llanbedr I arranged to meet David at the club to de-rig Sierra India.
Remembering that the trailer jack had been playing up for some time I decided to turn up a little early and try to investigate the fault.
Upon dismantling the jack, I found the bracket holding the pump was completely mangled and broken!
Drastic measures were called for, so, with the largest hammer I could find I proceeded to gently persuade it back into something near its original shape. As my attempt was proving to be less than successful, I ventured off in search of an even bigger hammer, at which point Peter Thomas arrived. He took one look and declared the bracket to be beyond repair and the only option, in his opinion, was to make a new one!
So, with the help of the side panel of an old filing cabinet (which was exactly the right gauge metal) we (actually more he than we!) set about cutting, shaping, grinding and welding. And several hours later we had a completely new bracket and a fully functioning serviceable trailer jack.
Many thanks again to Pete for dropping whatever plans he had for that morning and saving our trip to Llanbedr.
